STEP-BY-STEP TREATMENT

  • Step 1: Consultation

    You’ll be asked to come visit in person for an initial consultation. During this appointment, we’ll take a complete medical history and find out as much as possible about your treatment goals. 


    We’ll also explain a bit more about the patented science behind Profhilo and what you can expect from this treatment. Please feel free to ask lots of questions – we will always give you an honest answer.

  • Step 2: During your visit

    A treatment with Profhilo usually involves 10 injections into specific points of your face (five on either side). 


    We use ultra-fine needles and most people find the treatment incredibly comfortable.

  • Step 3: After the treatment

    You may find that you have small bumps at the injection sites for three to four hours after your treatment where the product has yet to fully disperse. Profhilo is great for minimising the chances of bruises and swelling but every person differs.


    The results of your treatment should start to be visible after seven days and will continue to improve over several months.


    The hyaluronic acid in Profhilo takes just 28 days to break down within the body so we always recommend a second appointment after four weeks. Together, these two treatments kick start a chain reaction of collagen and elastin production that should be visible for the next six to eight months.


    Many people choose to have one or two top-up appointments throughout the year.

WHAT THREADS WE OFFER

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads involve using a dissolvable fibre used to tighten skin for those experiencing sagging or loose skin in the face. The treatment restores your natural facial structure and has collagen stimulating properties. Threads are introduced into the skin with a needle or blunt ended cannula and are positioned to help to tighten sagging skin and add definition to the face. 


First, it mechanically results in instant skin lifting. Second, it contracts fat tissue to result in instant skin tightening. Third, it promotes collagen production and neovascularization to renew your skin at the cellular level. All of this works together to give you enhanced skin texture, fewer fine lines and wrinkles and more elastic skin.


WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE TREATMENT

Once the anesthetic has taken effect, your treatment will begin. The PDO threads are inserted via blunt tip needles, called cannulas, or sharp-tipped needles. Once inserted into the appropriate layer of skin, they act as anchors as the skin is lifted upwards. Then, the excess threads are cut off.


AFTERCARE

After the treatment you are then relatively free to go back to your normal day to day life, the downtime for this treatment is very minimal. however there are some small temporal changes we would highly encourage after your treatment for example, you should hold off on any dental treatments for the first two weeks after your PDO thread lift. Holding your mouth open for an excessive period of time can affect the results of your treatment. Moreover, you’ll want to sleep on your back for the first couple of weeks. This ensures you don’t put too much pressure on one side of your face.
